Mission of Burma by Simon Sharwood

I just went to buy the new Mission of Burma album The Obliterati from iTMS. I’m pretty excited about this album – how many bands break up, get back together many years later on the back of belated critical acclaim, and release an album that’s no match for their earlier work. Lots, huh.

Mission of Burma ain’t one of those bands. After an extended break they came back a couple of years ago with Off/On/Off (or was it the other way around?). It was at least as good as anything they’d done in the past. Now they’ve got the newy out, and it’s getting plaudits in all the right places.

So after putting it off for a day or two, promising myself I’d get to RedEye Records, I succumbed to the iTMS temptation. I hit “Purchase’ and was greeted with a message that said “The availability of the item changed while you were using the store. The same item may be available at a different price, or elsewhere within the store.”

RedEye – 1
iTms – 0
